Mobile towers of Feni district will be kept operational from the fund of BTRC: Nahid

To keep the mobile network towers of Feni district operational, the mobile operators has been instructed to keep the generators functional in the district. And the money spent for diesel in this purpose will be paid from BTRC's own fund.

This information is known from the instructions given to BTRC by the Advisor of interim government to Posts, telecommunications and information technology Md. Nahid Islam on Saturday.

The advisor said that, a lot of diesels is needed for generators to keep the 78 mobile network towers of Feni district operational. Currently, it is very important to keep mobile network towers operational during flood situations. Therefore, BTRC will take necessary steps to provide free diesel to the generators deployed by mobile operators in the district to keep the mobile network tower operational.

It is reported that the portable generator (PG) (75 KV) consumes 2.3 liters of diesel per hour and the generator (DG) (30 KV) consumes 4.4 liters of diesel per hour. As such, 6552 liters of diesel is used daily in 78 generators which is worth 7 lakh 14 thousand 168 taka and 45 thousand 864 liters in 7 days which is worth 49 lakh 99 thousand 176 taka.
